Graduated from Upper Arlington High School, 1967
Attended The Ohio State University, 1968–72
The Ohio State University Hospitals, pharmacy technician, 1972–78
Writing workshop instructor at Thurber House, spring, 1988, and The Ohio State University, summers, 1990–92
Resided in Marion, Ohio, from 1980 to 1995.

The WOSU Stations, in partnership with the Ohioana Library,
and with support from the Ohio Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities, developed Ohioana Authors.

The mission of the Ohioana Library Association is to recognize and encourage the creative accomplishments of Ohioans, to preserve and to expand a permanent archive of books, sheet music, manuscripts, and other materials by Ohioans and about Ohio, and to disseminate information about the work of Ohio writers, musicians, and other artists to researchers, schools, and the general public.
