The Ohio Connection

Allan Eckert has lived in Ohio, on and off, for over 33 years and currently resides in Bellefontaine.
His book, The Frontiersmen, was voted "favorite book about Ohio or an Ohioan.”
Eckert tied for first place in the "Overall Favorite Ohio Writer of All Time."
Adapted from The Frontiersmen, the outdoor drama TECUMSEH! has attracted millions to Chillicothe since 1978.
Eckert attended the University of Dayton and The Ohio State University.

The WOSU Stations, in partnership with the Ohioana Library,
and with support from the Ohio Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities, developed Ohioana Authors.

The mission of the Ohioana Library Association is to recognize and encourage the creative accomplishments of Ohioans, to preserve and to expand a permanent archive of books, sheet music, manuscripts, and other materials by Ohioans and about Ohio, and to disseminate information about the work of Ohio writers, musicians, and other artists to researchers, schools, and the general public.
