The Ohio Connection
- Julie Salamon was born in Cincinnati in 1953.
- Her parents had moved to nearby Seaman, Ohio after the war. When the Jewish immigrant family settled in rural Ohio, the Salamons brought diversity to the homogenous town. Lilly and
Alexander Salamon were Holocaust survivors of Auschwitz and Dachau who had lost their loved ones to the Nazi death camps.
- Julie Salamon enjoyed the type of childhood her family wished for their children: a normal, happy, upbringing free from danger and hatred. She graduated from North Adams High School in 1971
and went to college in the East, where she has remained to this day.
