The Ohio Connection

Robert Lawrence Stine was born on October 8, 1943 in Columbus. He was raised and educated in Bexley, a first-tier suburb east of Columbus.
He graduated from the Ohio State University in 1965. For three years, Stine edited OSU’s humor magazine, The Sundial.
After college, Stine remained in Columbus for a year to teach middle school social studies.
Stine chronicles his early experiences in the autobiography, It Came from Ohio! My Life as a Writer (1997).

The WOSU Stations, in partnership with the Ohioana Library,
and with support from the Ohio Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities, developed Ohioana Authors.

The mission of the Ohioana Library Association is to recognize and encourage the creative accomplishments of Ohioans, to preserve and to expand a permanent archive of books, sheet music, manuscripts, and other materials by Ohioans and about Ohio, and to disseminate information about the work of Ohio writers, musicians, and other artists to researchers, schools, and the general public.
